We hope you had a great Christmas day! We had a good one once Mom and Dad and the Jack got home. They gave us lots of love and some great toys: a catnip mouse and a little mouse on a sting. Then we watched Mom and Dad set up a train set for the Jack to play with tomorrow. It runs on its own!!!! Still no ham, unless you count the ham that Kon stole from the Jack's plate earlier this week. Anyway. Hope efurryone is safe, warm and getting lots of cuddles and kisses. Merry Christmas!

Things have been going well. Halloween was fun and we even had a real live Pumpkin! We didn't get any Turkey at all though. What is wrong with our Mom and Dad?!?!?
But we are looking forward to Christmas although we already got our big gift. A new fun scratching post-type toy. I'll try to post some pictures of us playing with it if I can get Mom to cooperate and take them. Anyway, we hope everyone is doing well and is having a wonderful Holiday Season!

Kon is back home and feeling much better. He wanted to say Thank You to efurryone that purred and prayed for him. Looks like we might be getting one of those fancy fountain water dishes now too! The vet recommended that Mom and Dad get us one to encourage drinking lots of water. YAY!

Kon will be spending a couple of nights that the betterarian. He has a Urinary Tract Infection, but fortunately Mom and Dad caught it really early and took him to see the doctor. Since it is a weekend, he'll have to be there for an extra day, but please keep him in your purrs and prayers. He should be back on Monday morning but I miss him already:(

Kon came home this morning. He only had a short adventure this time. Mom when down to the garage to see if he was around and found him sleeping on a shelf down there. Well, glad he's back. He acts like he hasn't eaten in days though.

My sneaky brother got out again today. Dad thought he shut the door all the way, but it is sticky and sometimes it is not really shut when they think it is. Well, today it wasn't and Kon and I got it opened. Kon escaped and I went out too, but I came right back in when I had a chance. Now Kon is out again and Mom and Dad aren't as worried this time because he was fine the last time when he came back. I'm stuck inside now though. Now I'm going to miss Kon while he's out and having fun, but I've got the foods!!!! HAHAHAHA. Hope he comes back before it's time to play though. Come home soon Kon.

Too Long

Wow, it has been way too long. My crazy mom has been working so much that she doesn't type for us anymore. We have tried everything to get her attention, our most recent plan has been "yicking" and leaving "gifts" whenever possible. Seems to have worked for the moment, as you can tell from this post.
So here's what's been going on with us.
Kon came home from his adventure in May and we have been very busy making sure that no birds or critters get in our apartment. There was a bat in the garage a little while back that we had to fight off from coming inside. Mom found him dead at the bottom of the stairs and had him "removed". (High-fives Kon).
We have also been keeping a look out for the woofies that moved in behind the barn in the field behind our house. There are 5 beagles out there and we are just far enough away that they aren't too loud, but we KNOW they are there.
Also, we are becoming a bit annoyed with the Jack. He tries to walk us. He grabs our tails and thinks it is like a woofie leash. How humiliating!!! He has also been plopping onto Kon. Teehee. I just run! I stay out of his way!!!
Mom has been nice enough to move our foods behind a baby gate, so Jack can't take it from us, but he does like to throw stuff in our dishes. Every day it's something new, some toy of his or another, or his cups. That's not so bad, because he drinks a lot of milk and we like that. Although it does make Kon "yick" more, but that just helps out with our previously mentioned project with mom.
We hope that everyone is doing well.

For Valentine's Day today, I took Skittles my beautiful darling wife out on a day in Charlottesville, Virginia. First we enjoyed a scenic Hot Air balloon ride to view the city.

Then we enjoyed a tasty seafood dinner at a local restaurant.

Now we'll go visit some of the scenery around the Shenandoah Valley.

I am now a proud member of the Naughty Kitty Club.
I am really good at my naughty skills. I love to be up high and on things that I shouldn't be. I enjoy whapping things off of those places. I especially love attacking my mom for seemingly no good reason, but I have my reasons and I'm not about to share them here, because I know she might read it. Other things that I have enjoyed doing lately include trying to escape into the garage to find a way out to the outside and I've taken up napping in the Jack's bed when he is not using it. As you can see, I'm very proud to have joined this club!

My New Pets

Since Mom works so much and Dad is so busy with the Jack, I have been very busy working on a new project. I have adopted a number of pets online that I love to care for all day. I'm on Facebook and have joined Fish World. I have LOTS of fishes now and pretty much spend my day feeding them, cleaning their tanks and growing new fishes to sell. It is a rather successful business! Here is a picture of me caring for some of my fishes. I should go feed them now. Bye!

Yoggi sent us a really fun toy. It is a box with holes in the side for digging out toys. It came with fuzzy balls and 2 toy mice. I especially love the mice!

This week, Mom and Dad have been preparing the house for Christmas. We have been helping with the tree. It seems that they did not fully inspect this tree before bringing it into the house. It has all kinds of interesting smells on it, even though Mom assured me it was fake. Just to be sure, Kon and I worked to pull it down for a more thorough inspection. Turns out Mom was right, it is fake and there was nothing more than traces of scent from our cousin Tinkerbelle the cat since it came from Grandma Christy's house. You can never be too sure though. Hope your holiday preparations are also going well!

Thank you everyone for all the Gotcha Day wishes. I wish I could get online more and stay in touch with my friends, but since we don't have internet still, it's hard. So I just type my posts and transfer them to my Dad's slyPod to be transferred when he gets WiFi...hahahaha. I love being so sneaky. Anyway, Kon and I are still doing well and enjoying the birds and such. I hope to have a picture up with my next post of me, Kon and the Jack, but for now I will tell you about a cool shop that I found out about in Charlottesville.
There is a shop in the downtown mall of C-ville that is called "The Cat House." No cats actually live there, but everything in there either has a picture of a cat on it, or is designed for our enjoyment. Mom told me that they have lots of toys including bananers and SUPER CHARGED CATNIP TOYS!!! I'm planning to stow-away on Mom's next trip into town and go check it out myself.

Sorry I've been gone for so long

Hi everyone! Sorry it's been so long since my last post. Here's what's been going on with me and Kon:
-We have moved from Evanston, IL to Madison, VA (close to Charlottesville, VA)
-We like our temporary apartment because there are lots of wild things to look at from the windows. We'll post some pictures as soon as we get a chance. The only thing we don't like about the apartment is that we currently don't have internet. Today's post is being posted by Jack who is visiting at Grandma Lisa's house.
-We will be moving again soon once Mom and Dad both get full-time jobs.
-Jack, our blurpy boy, is now 7 months old and is showing signs that we will start crawling around with us soon.
-We like that the apartment is tiny and there is only one cooling box to blow cold air into the apartment, because that means that the bedroom doors stay open and we get to sleep on the bed all night!
-My honeymoon with Skittles was lovely and we are happily doing a time-share thing staying with our two families now. Teleporting sure is fun!

Thanks for everyone that came to our wedding. We loved all of the gifts and had such a fun time visiting with you all!

Sad news

Our friend Coco went over the rainbow bridge yesterday. She was sick on Wednesday and taken to the ER. She had fluid in her lungs and was diagnosed with cancer yesterday. Her mommy helped her pass over yesterday because the doctors didn't think she would be comfortable over the next few days that they thought she might live.

We purray that she is resting in peace.

We have lots of news going on around here.

-Our Mom, Dad and JackBean are going on vacation and abandoning us here. Well, not really abandoning, they are leaving us with Auntie Megan, whom we adore. BUT STILL!!!

-I (Sly) am getting married on July 12th to my most beautiful Bride-to-Be Skittles, the Huntress. I am very excited about this! I have waited so long for the right WomanCat and here she is. I can't wait for the big day that will begin the rest of our lives together!

-My family is moving to Virginia on July 15th. I am a little nervous about traveling such a long distance. Kon is even more worried... It will be a 12 hour drive. We are planning to stay in a hotel overnight with our family but I'm not sure about this being in a car thing... any tips on this one?

We have had a very busy month with all of these plans. And it will just get busier as we pack up all of our toys, our tent, our napping spots, etc. and move. It's a shame too, because our family went to the MidWest meetup recently and now they won't even get to hang out with all their friends (MidWest kitty moms and dads) that they made:(

Auction for Coco

*Update 5.11.09: Coco's surgery was today and her mommy said that she is doing okay, but it was almost an emergency situation. She had the surgery just in time, because one of the bladder stones was starting to get stuck in her urinary tract. But she is now safe at home recovering.

We are beginning the auction and raffle for our friend Coco's vet bill!!!

This is a handmade soft, pink snuggle.

Mom is almost finished with it.

Right now it is about a foot and a half long, but will be well over two feet when finished. The auction will end Sunday, May 24th at noon CST.

There is also a raffle for this really fun toys and treats package! Raffle tickets are $2 each. Please specify how many tickets you would like in your comments and donate using paypal. The drawing will take place on Sunday May 24th at noon CST.

Coco's mom found a vet that will only charge her $500 for the surgery instead of $1400!!! But she still needs some help so we'll have an auction or raffle up soon. This is our friend Coco. She is a 1 year 7 months old, and is very tiny weighing only 6lbs.

Coco was adopted from a shelter by a family friend. She is very cuddly and likes to sleep in bed with her family.
About a week and half ago her mom noticed something was wrong with she started having accidents outside of the litter box and her urine was a light brown color. She had several accidents that night, so her mom took her to the vet. The vet ran a urinalysis and blood work on her and said there was a VERY high whiteblood cell count and ALOT of crystals in her urine. They diagnosed her with Urinary Tract Infection, and Coco was sent home on antibiotics. The first week was good, Coco was going to her litter box and eating normal again.
But over the weekend, her mom saw her urinating on the carpet again, and noticed it was PINK! They rushed her over to the vet again who kept her for X-Rays, which showed two stones in her bladder each the size of a jelly bean. Doctor recommended surgery ASAP, but the surgery is very expensive and her mom is worried about how they will pay for the bill.

She doesn't have a blog, but please keep Coco and her family in your purrs and prayers.

I will be holding either an auction or a raffle in the next few days to try to help raise some money for the outrageous vet bills.

He is finally home and we are getting to know him a little at a time. So far, he smells really good and looks safe. I'm not sure what the rest of the family has been doing to him though because he has been squealing every now and again. But we sure do like him!

Well, we are still waiting for the "Jack" and Mom and Dad to get home. I have to let you know that I originally misspelled his name. (But it's hard work trying to help run a country as Skittles' V.P. and update about a BrotherBean all at the same time.) Anyway, his name is Jack Isaac, I misspelled his middle name. It seems that they will be home probably on Saturday. I'll try to post some pictures once I figure out what this thing is gonna look like. So I'm excited to hear all these fun noises that he is supposed to make.

The "Jack" is here!!!

Well everyone, we don't have a picture yet, because Kon and I won't get to meet him until Friday or Saturday, but the "Jack" is here. More specifically he is at the human betteranian hospital with Mom and Dad.
Here is the information that Aunt Laura and Grandma Christy told us: His name is Jack Issac. He weighs 8lbs 9ounces. He is 19.5 inches long and makes fun noises.
Anyway, since I can't met him until Friday or Saturday, I will be on a business trip to visit Skittles and work on our upcoming inauguration for the next few days. I won't be able to blog as much, but I will be checking to see how everyone is doing and take messages if anyone has any other advice about a baby bean in the house. Have a great week everyone!!!

Trouble on Thursday

Today we got in a bit of trouble.

First, Kon tried to get the chips from Grandma Christy, who has been visiting awaiting the arrival of the "Jack."

Then I was a bit naughty and tried to escape to the downstairs and outside...twice. They wouldn't listen when I tried to explain, that I was just checking to see if that stork forgot to bring the "Jack" inside!

Mom said I'm grounded, but I think I can get on Dad's good side by being super cute!

Kon also made up with Grandma Christy by cuddling up and playing adorable.

I'm not sure exactly what to expect with the "Jack" coming soon. Any tips?

Tuesday Update

Hi everyone. Sorry it's been so long since our last post. Mom is getting bigger everyday! The good news is that the "Jack" is almost here, it could be any day now, but we might have to wait until the first week of January. The other good news is that Mom and Dad keep bringing home lots of soft, warm things for us to sleep on. Also, Kon has managed to take control of the fishbowl control, so Dad can't change the channel on us when we are watching nature shows and such. We'll try very hard to post again soon, but with Mom getting more bigger and more whale like everyday, she isn't paying as much attention to the computer. I think we're going to need some more training for her.

Hi Everyone!

We hope you had a great Halloween.

Kon and I took turns in the stroller on the front porch with Mom and Dad handing out candy to all the little sticky beans that came to our house. We were a big hit!

We didn't get to dress up because Dad says it is our Holiday to just be ourselves since we are both black cats. But Mom and Dad dressed up and went to a party after our bedtime.

Can you guess what/who they were?

P.S. Kon met a ladycat friend that lives in our neighborhood. He won't shut up about her. I know she can't possibly be as beautiful as Skittles, so I don't know what all the fuss is about. Mom will try to get pictures up soon.

Here's what's been going on at our house over that last 2 weeks:
1. Our camera needs the batteries recharged and Mom can't find the charger!
2. Dad got a promotion at his job!!! He even mentioned us and my blog in his introduction letter to his colleagues!
3. Mom is getting HUGE!!!
4. We found out that our blurpy is going to be a little brother, named Jack!
5. Our Aunt Laura is moving in with us soon so she can go to college and then there will be another set of hands to love on us:)
6. Mom is taking Friday's off now from her internship and school to hang out with us!
7. I have been wondering and worried about Sam, the Marmalade cat and the fact that he hasn't responded to my nice comment:( I hope he is doing alright.
8. We have been having problems with our internet, which through a new server. There have been tons of service trucks in our alley over the last two weeks.

12. We are getting very excited about the holidays! We have lots of family coming to visit us this year!!! I'm not sure why they are picking this year, rather than the last two. It's not like there's really anything different or super exciting happening with our family this year than before.

Sorry for the weekend absence. Mom and Dad wouldn't let us use the computer because they were getting newer faster internet with the cable company. Mom is not very happy because it took so long, and the big cable company wasn't very helpful. Dad is just happy that it is finally working! Anyway, the only exciting thing to happen this weekend was an intruder on our balcony.

Today is our 2nd Gotcha Day!!!
Mom made us special Gotcha Day Treats!!!!

Here is the recipe for the Tuna Tidbits:
Tuna Tidbits

6 ounce can of tuna
1/4 cup water drained from tuna
3 T cooked egg white, chopped
1/4 cup cornmeal
1/2 cup whole wheat flour

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine tuna, egg white and water. Add cornmeal and flour and blend to form a dough. Knead into a ball and roll to 1/4 inch thick. Cut into one-inch sized pieces. Bake at 350 F for 20 minutes. Makes 12 cookies.

* Mom made a few changes. She rolled the dough into tbs. sized balls, then flattened and quartered, so we had a lot more than 12. She also only baked them for 15 minutes since they were smaller now.

After all of the excitement, we needed a nap.

Thank you efurryone for all of your support, purrs and prayers for Kon's tooth surgery. Special thanks to Skittles and Karen, Grr, Midnight, Cocoa, Rascal, Riley and Max for all the fundraising help! He is back to his old self again and the bills are paid off completely!!! I found out today that Mom and Dad are going to Virginia for the weekend and are leaving tomorrow! I don't know why they don't think to tell us a little sooner. They are going to need a little more training I think. Does anyone on the Catblogosphere specialize in that? Anyway, for now Kon and I will be offline for a few days until at least Monday when Mom returns. I'll see if Mr. Mike and Auntie Megan will help me post, but I'm not sure if they will like my being on the computer. For now I'm going to take a nap, because snoopervising all that packing was a pain. Have a great weekend efurryone!

Kon's home and a Special Treat

Kon is home from the vet and he was grumpy for most of the day. He is doing just fine though and only had to have the root extracted. The vet said the top tooth could stay, but might fall out later.

But we also got a special treat in the mail today!!!

Hi Everyone,

Kon here. I'm taking over the blog for the night because I'll be at the Betternarian tomorrow.

I can't believe I have to go back! AND they said I can't eat after 7am?!?!?!?!?!?!? I'm not going to be a happy kitty.

Thank you everyone for all the purrs, prayers and support. It really does mean a lot to me and my family. You guys seriously are the best. Hopefully we'll have more fun things to post about after all of this crazy torture is over. Right now I'm going to go cuddle with Mom, Dad and Sly.

Kon's teeth update

Kon is scheduled for the Betternarian on Thursday. He will be there alllllllllll day, to have his surgery. I'll post more later, right now I'm very busy following Mom around the house while she gets ready for her internship class. Thanks everyone who is helping with fundraisers and donations! We have the best friends in the entire world!!!

Today while I was lounging around, Mom came in the apartment, scooped up Kon, stuft him into a carrier and whisked him away. I cried a lot, because I missed my brother. He came back about an hour later and was rather flustered! He said Mom took him to the Betternarian.

He had lost a big tooth on the bottom on Sunday and Mom was it would get infected, so they went to the doctor. It looks like where the tooth was, the root is still there, and the doctor said that it looked like the top big tooth was irritated too and would probably fall out later. But the worst thing is that Kon has to get a surgery to remove the root and check out the other one. So he'll be going to the Betternarian AGAIN!!! Sometime next week. The only problem is, it's pretty expensive. About $300 which mom isn't sure where she and Dad will be able to find that. Especially since Dad is a Teacher Assistant and doesn't work fulltime during the summer. But it has to be done, so I know they'll find a way.

Tonight is Date night with my lovely Skittles .

First I thought we would take a walk in the Chicago Botanic Gardens.

Here's a nice spot. Let's sit down and watch the Koi pond fish for awhile.

Are you hungry my dear? I've packed a picnic for us both.

Let's start with some tuna champaigne and some chat cheese.

Now for some tuna and melon salad.

And finally some shrimp, lobster and fixins'.

Monday Update!

Yesterday Mom and Dad took me downtown to the city for an audition! We were auditioning for the Meow Mix and Game Show Networks new game show called "Think Like a Cat"!!!!!

We will find out in the next week if we made it. I'll also add a picture of me at the audition once Dad puts it on the computer.

It was very exciting to audition. I didn't like the car ride there very much, but once we were there I enjoyed myself enough. I have such respect for cat stars now. It is a lot of work to be a star. You have to be very patient and wait for hours. But there are nice perks like treats and toys! And there was a room where they had some disposable litterboxes, food, water and space to stretch out, which made things bearable.

Once mom and I went in for the interview on tape portion I decided to go check things out on the set. It was pretty exciting! I don't want to spoil anything for any other cats that might want to audition, so that's all I'll say. If you would like to audition here's where you can find more info. There are auditions coming to New York, Tampa, Dallas, Denver, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Portland. Good luck to any other cats that try out!

It has been really stormy lately, so I haven't been outside all week! But Mom did open the window for me and this is what I found out there!

It just sat there and dried off on the branch after the last storm. He was kinda cute, but Kon and I kept a good watch on him, just in case he tried anything sneaky.

Today I am very happy, because my lovely Girlcat Skittles has agreed to a courtship.

I'm also excited because of a recent rooftop adventure.
(Warning: This may be a little scary for anyone that is afraid of heights. We do live on the third floor.)

This is where I always access the roof. The fencing was put there to keep me from getting on the roof, but you can see how stealthy I am with my good balance.

These are my featherbutted mice. At least they all started out featherbutted.

It is important to groom your toys regularly so that your brother does not get the wrong idea and think that it is okay to share.

Whapping is another important lesson in owning toy mice. That way they need not get out of line.

It is also important that your toys have names so that they come when called. The gray one is the "dishevled featherbutted mouse," because his fur is always messy. The white one we just call "she," because she is the only girl mouse.

And here are the formally feather-butted mice. The one on the right is called "yellow-mouse." The one on the left is called "the-notoriously-rouge-mouse," because he is often missing. I have to whap him the most so that he doesn't try to escape under the closet door or back door.
